CAYE CAULKER BELIZE,
What a lovely little island, not very big, can walk from one end to the other in 15 minutes. We went snorkeling once and enjoyed the reef life and also the stingrays that came right up around our feet. Everyone is very nice, it is inexpensive, and there are about 4 Chinese grocery stores on the little island so you can get whatever you need. We have a very nice cabana right on the beach front, with a kitchen so we do our own cooking. The best thing is that it is much cleaner than Mexico and they speak English, took a bit to get used to that.
Tomorrow we leave here and head back to the mainland and then start our road trip again. Off to tour a little more of Belize and then into Guatemala for a couple weeks.
All is well with us, enjoying every day.
have not been able to post any photos as we are not hooked up to a good internet, will try sometime.

HAPPY NEW YEAR Jan 1st, 2010
I can't really describe how wonderful our New Years Eve was, there we were on this beautiful white sand beach, with the full moon glittering across the Caribbean (not only that it was a Blue Moon-meaning the second full moon in the month) the waves calmly rolling in and with some very nice people. Around 11pm we walked over to another gathering and we had live music and dancing in the sand. The New Year was toasted in while we watched the fireworks from a couple of the resorts down the beach. It was a very memorable time.
Now, remember what I said about the beach not being crowded at Christmas, WELL, last night made up for it, around 9pm a bus pulled up full of Mexicans and they off loaded onto the beach, there has to be over 75 tents set up infront and on either side of us. I am not complaining what so ever as they are all very nice and came to the beach just for bringing in the new year. From what I am told they will be gone by tonight or tomorrow.
We are here until Monday, Jan 4th, and then we head to Belize. We have rented a place on Caye Caulker reef and will leave the truck at an rv park just south of the Mexican border. We are planning on 4 days out on the caye for some diving and snorkeling.
Our stay here at Xpu Ha has been wonderful, very relaxing and very inexpensive. We have met some new friends we will be sad to leave.
Until Belize, take care.
