  • Today is October 9th and we are sitting outside a campground at a small town called L'islets using their wifi. We did Ottawa in a day and it was interesting. We went to Parliament Hill and did the "tour", went up the Peace Tower and stood under the clock, I remember doing the same thing back in the 60's, when I was 12 and we were in Ottawa for brother Bud's graduation from RCMP Depot. We also took in the House of Commons and really found out why nothing gets done, there were perhaps 8 people on the Conservative side and perhaps 9 on the Opposition side, all of whom were not even listening to the fellows who were talking - figures.  I did see Jack Layton coming in when were got there around 11am, he was late for the sitting!!!!! There is a fabulous market just down from Parliament and we got some great fresh veggies and apples, this has to be the most inexpensive market we have seen, and such wonderful produce.  We were then off to Quebec City, and we did that city in a day as well, we do walk fast. Driving from Cornwall to Quebec City was a day of hard rain, and we managed to get the hardest rain as we were in the cities trying to drive thru heavy traffic. They are the worst drivers in Quebec, truckers especially, think the best drivers and roads has been Saskatchewan. We did all of the Quebed walled city and more, it is a beautiful place and once again the rains held off for the day as we walked, and walked, and walked. The architecture here is lovely and colorful and the cost of things expensive. We spent our first night when we arrived at campground about 3/4 hour east of town, not quite where we had expected it to be, but once there we stayed the night for $20.00 and hot showers included. The next day, Thursday, we went back into Quebec City and found a parking lot right downtown at the marina that allowed us to park overnight for $12.00, it was within walking distance of everything.
  • Today, Friday, we are driving along the St. Lawrence on a secondary hwy and going thru many little towns that have the nicest houses, and amazing large churches with huge steeples, guess the higher it is the closer you are to the man up top!!!!!!!
  • We are not sure how far we will go today, but should be heading into New Brunswick tomorrow and start our tour of the Maritimes.
  • Unfortunately I am having problem uploading photos to the blog, which is really too bad, as we have some nice ones. As well, trying to find an internet connection is not as easy as we thought.
  • Happy Thanksgiving to all, and until next time xxxxxooooooo
